National Numeracy Day Wednesday 18th May 2022

This Wednesday 18th May  is National Numeracy Day! The pupils of St Matthew’s Catholic Primary School will be participating in lots of fun, exciting activities and challenges to help support their learning in maths! We are even going to try and be part of a Guinness World Record with Times Tables Rock Stars. Adults can get involved and even take a numeracy challenge of their own online using the following link. There are also links to videos and fun activities to do at home with your children too!

St Matthew’s finish 3rd!

The St Matthew’s Cross Country team took part in the annual South Tyneside schools competition at Temple Park in South Shields. The team performed brilliantly, finishing in 3rd place overall. As part of their latest History topic, Year 4 visited Arbela Roman Fort in South Shields, where they leant lots about what life was like as a Roman soldier. Making the most of the early Spring sunshine, they even managed a little visit to Marine Park on the way back. They had a great time.
