The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle has a growth plan for Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust to serve South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham, with a total of 34 schools in the Trust by July 2022.

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust was established in February 2016, currently there are 29 schools within the Trust with a schedule of additional schools joining each term.  The details of each of the schools currently within the Trust can be found on our website

Required for September 2022, the Governors of St Matthew’s Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint a Classroom Teacher/SEND Co-Ordinator to join this vibrant school community and dedicated staff team.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring teacher who:

  • is an innovative, dedicated and highly effective classroom teacher, committed to high standards of teaching and learning
  • has a good understanding of SEND processes and inclusive practice
  • has high expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour
  • has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum
  • is able to work effectively as part of a team and form positive relationships throughout our school community

A genuine passion for SEND is essential, as is an understanding of SEND processes, inclusive practice and an ability to use initiative and inspire and lead others. Relevant CPD and a comprehensive induction will be offered to the successful candidate. Salary: M1-UPS3 £25, 714 – £41, 604 plus TLR 2B allowance (£4, 785)
